PROformance Hoops builds its higher-end in-ground systems, including the PROforce 660FH, around a tempered safety glass backboard rather than acrylic or steel, sized at 60 by 38 inches on that model, giving a true glass rebound feel similar to what players see in competitive gyms.

The company explains on its own site that tempered glass is roughly four times more durable than standard glass and, if it ever does break, shatters into small blunt fragments instead of sharp shards, a safety behavior specific to the tempering process rather than ordinary annealed glass used in cheaper backboards.

A tempered glass backboard is a premium choice for a New England family or club that wants gym-quality play at home or on a private court, but glass is heavier and less forgiving of impact than aluminum or polycarbonate, so mounting hardware and pole rigidity need to be sized correctly to handle the additional weight and the wind and ice loading a glass panel sees outdoors.

The PROview line, including the PV660 and 554PV, is PROformance's internal-jack adjustable height goal system, using a hand crank or jack mechanism housed inside the pole itself to raise and lower the rim, documented in the company's dedicated PROview owner's manuals and installation instructions.

PROformance publishes full owner's manuals for the PROview series covering the internal jack mechanism, anchoring hardware, and assembly sequence, giving installers a clear reference for setup and any future adjustment or service work on the height mechanism over the unit's life.

An internal-jack system keeps the adjustment hardware protected inside the pole rather than exposed to the weather, which matters in a New England climate where an external, exposed crank mechanism can gather ice and grit that make height adjustment stiff or unreliable by midwinter; a sealed internal jack is easier to keep functioning through the cold months.

PROformance Hoops includes a pole pad, base pad, and backboard edge pad with select in-ground systems as a promotional standard inclusion, padding the pole, the ground-level base, and the backboard's outer edge against player contact.

These padding components are a documented accessory package the company bundles with qualifying models rather than a generic aftermarket add-on, meaning the pads are sized and shaped to fit that specific pole and backboard geometry out of the box.
